Mountain St. Helen

After the zoo we drove north at Russ Uncle's house where we stayed for a night and went to church the next day! After church we left to go south by Mt. St Helen where we stayed for the night!
Dopo essere stati allo zoo abbiamo guidato a nord a casa dello zio di Russ dove siamo stati per la notte e poi siamo andati in chiesa il giorno dopo. Dopo chiesa siamo partiti per andare sud al vulcano St. Helen dove siamo stati per una notte.



Russ' brother Ryan and his family where there too. Alice loved to play with Isabelle, even though she hasn't learned how to be soft yet.
Il fratello di Russ, Ryan era anche lui li con la famiglia. Ad Alice piaceva tanto giocare con Isabelle, anche se ancora non ha imparato a fare piano con i bambini piccoli.

We drove up to the observatory to get a good look at the mountain. We were so happy that the sky cleared out right when we were there and we were able to see the whole thing.
Siamo andati su all'osservatorio dove si poteva vedere la montagna bene. Eravamo cosi' contenti che le nuvole se ne sono andate proprio quando noi eravamo li cosi' abbiamo potuto vedere tutto il vulcano.

This is a volcano by the way and last time it erupted was in 1990, not too long ago, but it destroyed half of the mountain.

Questo vulcano tra l'altro e' esploso nel 1990, non tanto tempo fa, e meta' della montanga e' stata distrutta.



Alice really wanted to walk where she wasn't supposed to and when she got upset this it what she did!
Alice voleva camminare fuori dal tracciato cosi' quando la portato sulla strada si arrabbiava e si metteva giu' cosi'!!

Siamo anche andati a visitare dopo crescono i salmoni. Alice deve sempre fare cose pericolose.



The next day we went to visit the lava tunnels that were created by eruptions, not the recent one but many many years ago.
Il giorno dopo siamo andati a visitare tunnel formati dalla lava dopo una grande esplosione tanti tanti anni fa.




Then we went to visit this other tubes that were formed by huge trees that fell down and were covered with lava. Then with time the trees inside burned or decomposed and now there are tons of fun tubes around the valley.
Poi siamo andati a visitare questi altri tubi che sono stati formati da grandi alberi caduti e coperti dalla lava. Poi con il tempo hanno bruciato o si sono decomposti e ora rimangono tanti di questi tubi sparsi per la valle.



The next day be visited another fish hatchery. Alice here is feeding the trouts.
Il giorno dopo siamo andati di nuovo ad un posto dove crescono salmoni e trote. L'alice si e' divertita a dar da mangiare alle trote.

One of the best part of the trip was seeing Holly. My favorite roommate of all times. She lives in Portland and since we were not far away from there we met up and went to dinner with her and David her husband. After dinner they took us to take a good look of downtown Portland and of their house that they are building. I'm so excited that we got to see them and spend some time together.
Una delle cose piu' belle di questo viaggio e' stato vedere Holly. Lei e' sempre stata la mia compagna di stanza preferita. Abita a Portland adesso e siccome non era tanto lontano abbiamo colto l'occasione e siamo andati a fare qualcosa con lei e suo marito David. Dopo cena ci hanno portanto in centro e a vedere la loro nuova casa che stanno costruendo. Era cosi' bello vederli e stare un po' con loro.



This is the cabin where we stayed for a few night. Such a cute little house, I wish we could have stayed here longer.
Questa e' la casina dove siamo stati per un paio di notti. Era cosi' bella, sarebbe stato bello stare di piu'!
