Isola D'Elba (July 28-30)

On Monday morning we packed our tent and went to Piombino where we got on a boat and went to Elba Island.

As we approched you could see the old fortress that was built to protect the harbor. The city, Portoferraio, was where Napoleon was exiled for a while.

This is the campground where we stayed. In the very back you can see our green tent.

This is the beach right below the campground. The cliffs were pretty high and we had to go down a tiny path on the edge of the cliffs to get there.

One morning we went to rent a boat and this dog came right at us as we opened the door. Alice went crazy!!!

Snorkeling was fun, even if there were so many jelly fish and it was kind of scary.

Cave in the rocks...maybe a private entrance to a house.

We saw a couple of huge yachts.
The coast was just beautiful to ride by.

The water was so clear we could see right through it.

Alice's float was broken so we had to put her on top of a bigger one.

After the whole day in the sun we went to the town to walk around, eat and see Napoleon's villa!
The next day we left to return to Pordenone. It was a long ride home, but we made it!
